The Story Behind
Masks International Show
Masks International Show, known as M.I.S., is a not-for-profit organization based in Calgary which creates vivid theatrical shows inspired by the famous Carnival of Venice.
The unique aspect of each production is that all performers wear exquisite handcrafted masks and elaborately designed costumes using wearable fabric technologies.
Moreover, each production combines various dance styles, circus elements and compelling storyline influenced by the world's cultural diversity.
Established in Calgary, AB, Canada, M.I.S. produced its first full production called “Vizard Show” in June, 2016, which received an overwhelmingly positive response from the Calgary Arts Community, as well as media.
Transforming Alberta Through
Our mission is to promote Multiculturalism, folk and ethnic cultures, things which unite different nations and people. We give an opportunity to local artists and dancers to express their creative talents through performing arts.
We want to create an organization which will help to promote Calgary not only as a production and oil capital of Canada, but as a cultural centre.
Masks International Show has partnerships with many local and national not-for-profit and charity organizations to help them raise funds and awareness.
M.I.S. is a proud supporter of YYCharity, True Beauty Foundation, Canadian Transplant Association Alberta Division (CTA), A Million Words For Children, Haling Families Handle Cancer Foundation and many others.
